what's for dinner?
this god forsaken question always haunts us. the city is jam packed with places to eat: cheap eats, fancy eats, cultural eats, non-edible eats, display eats, all sorts of eats! so why is that when it comes down to the question, “what’s for dinner?” we’re all stumped?

double the fun
i recently heard of a woman who googled her boyfriend’s name to only find “wedding registry” as the first match. no, this is no coincidence. richard james is in fact engaged to shirley madison. shirley madison is, in fact, not rachel scott, girlfriend of richard james. are you lost yet?
well let me tell you more. richard james and girlfriend rachel scott have been dating for three wonderful...
my sunny shadow
my sister and her husband are moving out in a week and i get to move into their room. score for me, i’ve never had a room of my own (and according to Virginia Woolf, you really should have your own room…) so this will be interesting. im looking forward to throwing away junk circa 1998, painting the walls, buying a new desk, and starting a new. but this is a bittersweet occasion. my mom posted on...

i’ve stopped posting for a while but after deciding to allow just one addictive application on my phone, i figured it should be one that will keep my mind alert, and be able to share with the rest of the world :) so, with that said, i’m back, bizatches!

i think its funny when ppl update their profile/status updates/give gifts between 9am - 5pm on facebook or on their blogs … way to be discreet……
new york times just launched their article skimmer. the prototype is part of a series of nytimes up-and-coming features that they are testing for user feedback. the pro is, many people probably already do this - skim headlines while at work, while walking to the train, while we wait for our friend/mom/special person come back from the bathroom while at a restaurant… - so! NYT brings...

The Red White and Blue
Back in Chicago, there were a few times when I would sit tirelessly at the Southbound Cermak bus-stop heading to China Town. During one of my long waits, someone asked me to sing the Star-Spangled Banner, our national anthem. There is a sad and amusing element to this story. The amusing: whenever I attempt to sing this song, my brain always flashes back to Asher Levy School, 2nd Grade, Mr....

Happy Birthday
Three minds recently posted on the lasting effects of social media:
“As social media continues to grow, it will come to create a detailed online representation of your life and its daily activities, your passions and dreams. It will represent reputations in all their truths, and any of their fallacies. Your online persona is a reality of today and many wise individuals expend effort and...

A Play With Words
My sister showed me an interesting website. “Wordle is a toy for generating ‘word clouds’ from text that you provide”. So, you go onto the site, pop in some words, a website (blog or even something like www.nytimes.com), and it will serve you a ‘Word Cloud’ - the word cloud is an accumulation of words most used on the site/text you submitted. You can...
Picture Perfect
I took the most beautiful picture on September 1st, 2008, Monday - Labor Day.
The fluorescent lights scanned beautifully across the thin walls, cleaning it from overcrowded shadows. My grandpa sat at 11 o’clock and stared gleefully at his great grandson, Brandon Will Tang. In the midst of chatters and ahhh-Boo! ahhh-Boo!’s the cackle that Brandon exhaled infected the room and...
"That Mother Chucker"
Spotted: Gossip Girl’s first episode of the season. As promised, scandalous affairs, new beginnings, love and heartaches in one breath, and glamorous waves of fashion. Of all of those spoiled Upper East Side high schoolers, one of them stood out the most last night; you’ve guessed it: That Mother Chucker.

there she is. sitting comfortably on the white plastic hanger in my mother’s crowded closet… pressing against a white-powdered Rebecca Taylor, blissfully opening the left-side of her blouse for some air; hiding behind a bright orange retro cami top illuminating the New York black and grey mix; admiring the red carpet couple of an ironed-clean Theory blazer wrapping her sleeve around a...

Do they have radios in heaven? I hope they do ‘Cause they’re playing my song on the radio And I’m singing it to you You left before I had a chance to say goodbye But that’s the way life usually is it just passes you by But you can’t hold on to regrets and you can’t look back So I’ll just be thankful for the times that I had with you I hope I’m just...
